ABOUT COLBIER

ROOTED IN LIVERPOOL, COLBIER IS CRAFTING BEER THAT HITS ALL THE RIGHT NOTES, HARMONISING OUR PASSION FOR CONTINENTAL AND TRADITIONAL BREWS WITH A LOVE OF GREAT MUSIC.

Established in 2024 by Mike Corbett and Vik Williams, with Jason joining us in 2025, between us, we collectively carry over a decade of experience gleaned from our respective roles in various local craft beer bars and breweries.

Forging a bond through our shared passion for music, we embrace a philosophy that mirrors our musicology —to acknowledge rules while daring to break them.

Equalising balance, simplicity, and quality, we are producing the very styles that ignited our brewing journey. Experimenting on our pilot kit and fine-tuning core recipes on our larger 20HL kit, to consistently deliver Proper Sound Beers from the beat of Liverpool.

Meet the Crew

Vik Williams

Co-Founder / Ops Manager

Despite not originally working in beer, Vik is not afraid to get stuck in and has turned their hand to all things operations: from admin, comms and organising, to dray and marketing. They also lend Mike a hand brewery side, both on brew days and when it comes to packaging our beer. Vik speaks French fluently, and their previous experiences range from working as a translator to managing the admin department in a mental health charity.  Among their top artists are Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Mike Corbett

Head Brewer

Mike has devoted his time to learning everything he can about beer and fermentation since first working in a craft beer bar back in 2015, as a side hustle to running his own online vinyl store. He quickly got into homebrewing, before volunteering hours in local breweries and then retraining as a brewer. Mike is happiest when he’s working as his own boss and so it has long been his dream to own his own brewery. He creates the recipes, brews the beer and isn’t afraid to experiment and try out new things. With a keen interest in all things fermentation, at home he loves making hot sauce, kimchi, kombucha and the occasional pickles. His favourite artists are Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Sonic Youth.

Backstage

OUR 20HL BREWHOUSE IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING AND
PACKAGING A WIDE VARIETY OF BEER STYLES.
Based in Bootle, Liverpool, we run our brewery on a 3-vessel system (hot liquor tank, mash tun and brew kettle) with an additional whirlpool tank for those extra hoppy beers.

We are committed to reinvesting in our plant to make our processes better and be more eco-friendly, meaning more consistent beer that is better for the planet. This includes rinse-tanks for recapturing our waste-water to help with cleaning, enabling us to cut down on water consumption.

All our beer is packaged on site in cask, keg and small pack. We can our beers using a Microcan IMP2, giving our small pack between 6- 12 month Best Before End dates, depending on the beer style.

We have two cold stores in the brewery to ensure the beer remains fresh, ready for delivery.
